9th March 2017, Day 5:
The majesty of Brown Bluff, with humans and icebergs for scale. What a sight to behold, this massive cliff glinting reddish-orange from between the wispy clouds at altitude, in stark contrast with the whitest firn (icy snow) on the slopes.
Ok get ready to have your mind blown. Brown Bluff as I mentioned is about 800m tall, and you can see how humans fare at this scale. Recall I mentioned in an earlier post that, if you stood on the South Pole, you would be standing on 4.8km of solid ice under you. So imagine a wall of ice 6 times taller than Brown Bluff as seen in this photo... it somehow just doesn't compute in my head...

"I've had 7 drinks, maybe 8.
For a week now I've felt the sickness.
Hoping the violent waves of vomit would come; they haven't.
Instead I carry on robotically from one day to another, normal save for a dull undertone of nausea in the pit of my stomach, in the uneven murmur of my heart.
But there comes a point when you know you need to shove your finger down your own throat for the greater good; to rid my body of these toxins. We've all been there.
My head lowered, breath slowed; at the ready for the pain to take my body.
Remembering the pitter-patter of the rain against the open window, your lips on my bare shoulder when you thought I was asleep.
But you don't remember.
My fingertips bat at my tonsils, my eyes water with the first convulsion of my stomach.
Your rough, callused hand closes around mine. The crowd seemingly parts as we walk through. I'm wrapped up in you, your arms around me and I see nothing else.
But you don't see me."
