Dinner tonight was healthy, easy and super fast because mommy has bible study! Turkey sausage and fresh veggies. Literally took 5 minutes to cut it all up. Threw it all in a skillet with a little olive oil and minced garlic....ready to go in just a few minutes. Even the kids like it!
These foods are bad news. I try to stay away like the plague as much as possible.I'm not perfect though but when I make the effort, my body thanks me for it.

Was scrolling through my old photos and came across these! 😳 The left was me just hours after giving birth to baby ✌🏻I still looked pregnant 😬 My belly didn't just go back down over night. In fact, I had ZERO muscle tone after having her. I remember taking that pic and saying to myself "this is my before pic" 😆 I was determined to feel like me again.
Fast forward to 7 months later and I found my abs again 🙌🏻 I had to put in some hard work for that though! 30 min of exercise, daily Shakeology and cleaning up my diet is what it took to reach those goals. It was hard because we had just recently moved (with a baby), I was back to work, and she was still waking up 1-2 times a night 😴 I was exclusively breastfeeding and trying to manage a household with all the mommy duties that entails. However, that didn't mean put myself on the back burner and stop taking care of myself. In fact, it was just opposite! Happy, healthy mom = happy, healthy family. The excuses will ALWAYS be there. The magic happens when you decide to push past them. 👊🏻 #fitmom#healthylifestyle#postpartumjourney#momoftwo#absafterbabies#takecareofyourself#healthymommy#pushpastyourexcuses

Need a lunch idea?! Check out this one from Miss 8!
Btw- I LOVE this lunchbox system from Rubbermaid. We have had it for years and it holds up GREAT! Plus it comes with the cold pack and fits any standard sized lunchbox. Best part it's reasonably priced!!

Do you think I want to come home and cook dinner after working all day outside my home👎? Nope, the truth is that most days I do not feel like cooking after I get home from work (that's why I prep most if my dinners on Sunday) but I do, when I have to! Sure, it would have been easier to just swing through the drive through at Chix-fil-a or Wendy's (those are the girls first choice for fast food☹) and grab our dinner instead of cooking tonight but, I didn't👍! I didn't go for the quick, easy, more convenient, definitely not healthy meal because....
1. That's not what I want my children to think is normal😮,
2. I don't like my children to eat fast food on the regular because it's not good for them🤤,
3. It may be more convenient to grab some food but, it cost alot more than cooking a meal at home and
I am pretty sure that eating through the drive through on a regular basis is what got me to the point of being 40lbs overweight 😜! So, tonight just like most nights I suck it up😭 and spend 30 minutes in the kitchen cooking a healthy meal for my family and save that drive through meal for a night when I really can't cook dinner😉

I need to get serious here for a minute. Our general health as a society is in despair. The United States' obesity numbers are sky rocketing and more and more people are getting sick everyday. I can name close family and friends that are all battling serious health issues right now. This is an epidemic and it has to change. We all know that eating healthy and exercise have so many tremendous benefits from lowering cholesterol, blood sugars to helping build a healthy immune system. But then why do so many people keep sabotaging their lives by filling their bodies with chemicals, processed foods and just crap?
I am not perfect with my nutrition and yes I still enjoy my cocktails but it isn't an everyday occurrence. I want to be here for my kids and watch them grow up. That is my "why". So many people ask me how I can keep doing my workouts and I just think about not seeing my kids graduate and get married and that pushes me everyday.
Today I scheduled my first colonoscopy. There is a history of colon cancer on both sides of family and I am going to be proactive with my health. Schedule your physicals, mammograms and other tests instead of putting it off until tomorrow. Tomorrow is never promised to us.
I hope this post motivates you to start moving and thinking about what you are eating. I am always here to help you as changing your lifestyle is one of the hardest things you will ever do in your life. Let's stop the Insanity and get healthy together.
